Sign up for doula support

Our mission is to provide a doula’s support to every woman who wants one, regardless of ability to pay.

Eligibility requirements:

We offer support based on the number of people in your household and on your household income. We follow WIC eligibility guidelines. So, if you qualify for WIC, you qualify for FREE doula support. If you feel you are able to cover part of the cost of this service, your $200 will help to support this project and enable us to provide doulas for any woman who wants one. Please have your household income information available when you call to sign up for our services. Our staff person will conduct a brief phone interview with you to determine eligibility, and will then proceed to find a doula who is available to work with you and your family.

If you can, try to contact us 2-3 months before your due date. That will give us more time to set up the best possible match between you and your volunteer doula.

If you are not eligible for free or reduced cost doula services,
BirthWell in Birmingham provides doula services at a cost of $350-$550.
And you can feel good knowing that a portion of your fee comes back
to BirthWell Partners to help support our volunteer doulas!

To make a referral

If you provide services to pregnant women or otherwise know of a woman who could benefit from having a doula, please send us an email with your referral AND give your client/friend our contact information and have her contact us to sign up.

Outreach

We can also provide your agency/business with BirthWell Partners client brochures that you are welcome to pass out. In addition, program staff are available to come and speak to your group about our program and answer any questions you may have.
