Community Resources
One Roof is a resource and referral agency connecting persons experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness with services.
Provides those experiencing homelessness with s stable emergency shelter, access to housing programs, and the resources for them to achieve their full potential.
Provides safe, stable living accommodations to pregnant and/or parenting homeless mothers and their children (ages 16-21) who are engaged in breaking cycles of trauma and poverty.
Pathways provides emergency shelter and comprehensive support services designed to help women and children experiencing homelessness regain stability and achieve self-sufficiency.
Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP):
​The objectives of LIHEAP are to help low-income families meet the costs of home energy, defined as heating and cooling of residences, and to increase their energy self-sufficiency and reduce their vulnerability resulting from energy needs.​​

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
​Provides monthly financial assistance to eligible low-income individuals and families to purchase food. Benefits are loaded onto an EBT card, which can be used at approved grocery stores and markets to buy essentials like fruits, vegetables, bread, and dairy, helping to improve food security and nutrition.

Offers mothers struggling with substance use a one-stop for prenatal care, substance use treatment, medication, parenting support, counseling, and peer recovery support.
Also connects women to resources for food, clothing, healthcare, and legal issues.​
UAB Comprehensive Addiction in Recovery Program (CAPP):
Provides help for new and expecting mothers with a current or past substance use disorder.
The CAPP clinic combines prenatal and postpartum care with social services, case management, and peer recovery support, along with evaluation and treatment for addiction.​
One of Alabama’s largest providers of substance abuse treatment, substance abuse/HIV prevention, employment services, health care and affordable housing.
Provides care and services for substance- dependent women and their children.​ Some of the many services include housing, medical screenings, support groups, counseling, and more.
Alabama Pregnancy Test Center:
Various resources including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD testing, education resources, and more.​
Prenatal, birth, and post-partum resources ranging from free ultrasounds to child-birth classes and post-partum support groups.
West Alabama Women's Center (WAWC):
Offers pregnancy verification for Medicaid applicants, prenatal care, and miscarriage management, including ectopic and missed miscarriages, while providing support for pregnant individuals experiencing complications.​

Provides professional counseling and support groups for parents grieving the death of a child of any age, ranging from pregnancy loss through adulthood. Along with additional child counseling services
Khairi and Little Angels' Memorial
Provides maternal resources mental health and wellness support, and infant burial assistance from 20 weeks to 12 months.
Postpartum Support International
Provide free peer support to moms experiencing postpartum depression and/or anxiety.
Infants six to twelve months of age can receive a free comprehensive eye and vision examination regardless of a family's income or access to health insurance coverage through InfantSEE. InfantSEE is a public health program managed by Optometry's Charity, The AOA Foundation.

24/7, free, confidential support, resources and referrals to any pregnant and postpartum mothers facing mental health challenges and their loved ones. The service is available via phone and text in English or Spanish.​
988 is the national three-digit phone number for all mental health, substance use, and suicide crisis.​
Calls are routed to Alabama Call centers located at AltaPointe Health in Mobile; in Birmingham at JBS in collaboration with The Crisis Center Birmingham; in Dothan with SpectraCare Health Systems; and in Huntsville at WellStone.
